Santa came to our ward Christmas party. Carson was thrilled and first in line to see the big guy. He is asking for a 'Doodle pop monster' and a dog robot with a 'memote control' (that is, remote control). He really wanted to find Santa's sleigh outside, but we didn't ever see it. Addy is two, thus completely scared of the scary man with a red coat and big white beard. This picture is as close as she got! Santa was even passing out candy and she still didn't budge!

Christmas Tree Hunt

We went to the 'Red Barn' (in Orting, WA) again this year to find the Pettingill family Christmas tree. It was beautiful sun shiny day, but a touch cold. The kids enjoyed riding the small train around until we got dropped off in the Noble Fir section---of course, the trees we like the best (Noble) are the most expensive...but, remember it is all about the experience, right?! We didn't take too long to find the perfect one, then cut it down and loaded it back on the train. They wrap the tree in netting to make it easier to transport home. The kids were a sticky, candy-cane mess from the free treats they were passing out. With the help of a friend, we brought the tree inside on Sunday evening. It is always so hard on the kids to wait a couple of hours for me to get all the lights on (1500 twinkling lights to be exact!), but they were pretty patient and loved hanging on the ornaments when it was ready. Of course we had on the movie 'Christmas Vacation' ---a family favorite! So, our house if feeling complete with the Christmas tree up and decorated and the house smelling like a fresh pine tree!

Sorry about this blurry picture (below) was the only one that shows off those lights that took forever!

Why I {Blog}

My little blog is a family journal. I include things on here I want to remember years and years from now. So when I post a zillion is because I want to have it for my posterity. So please forgive the often posted-picture overload.

Currently I am trying to focus on my photography skills...reading, reading, reading, and taking pictures when I can. Then edit, read, read, read some more. I finally feel like I have a basic understanding of exposure...hooray! I updated my blog template so I can display larger photos because...aren't pictures better than anything I have to say anyway?

More about me here.
