Carson Turns 5!

It has been a week of festivities for a 5 year old boy in the house. He has had quite the week despite fighting a little cough the last few days. He took "C" and "P" sugar cookies to preschool on Wednesday and got to be the special helper all day (hold the flag during the pledge of allegiance, stand at the beginning of the line, pass out the treats, etc). On his birthday (the 25th) we had his favorite spaghetti dinner and his requested 'tall chocolate cake' for his birthday cake. He enjoyed opening his family presents and cards and had fun talking to everyone on the phone. Addy kept saying she wanted an "Elmo" party (which was what we did when she turned two) ... so it was a little tough to see big brother with so many presents and none of her own. But Carson let her 'help' him open a few presents. His friend birthday party was today...the Superman party! We borrowed a costume from a friend, invited 7 kids over, and it was a mad house in a matter of minutes. What is it with little boys and wrestling? In between the chaos they made their own Superman capes, ate pizza and kryptonite punch, played 'Superman Says' and 'Kryptonite Keep-Away', opened presents, sang happy birthday, and ate kryptonite cupcakes....and that was all in the first hour. Then we had 30 minutes to kill before the parents came back. We managed to replay a few of the games to avoid having someone injured in the group wrestling match. We had it all cleaned up by 2:30. I can't believe my baby is 5! We register him for Kindergarten next month! Here's a few pictures from the past few days!

Why I {Blog}

My little blog is a family journal. I include things on here I want to remember years and years from now. So when I post a zillion is because I want to have it for my posterity. So please forgive the often posted-picture overload.

Currently I am trying to focus on my photography skills...reading, reading, reading, and taking pictures when I can. Then edit, read, read, read some more. I finally feel like I have a basic understanding of exposure...hooray! I updated my blog template so I can display larger photos because...aren't pictures better than anything I have to say anyway?

More about me here.
