It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

She's a big girl and it is about time

My little Addy has been a very stubborn potty trainer. It seriously has been one of my worst parenting struggles. I have hated it...and it dragged out over most of 2007. My problem was I couldn't fully commit. I would always buckle and go back to diapers. But I finally put my foot down in September. And I would call her officially potty-trained by the middle of October. Yes, just 2 weeks shy of her THIRD birthday. Now I know there are moms out there who are working on potty-training their 4 year olds. Talk about endurance. I know "each kid is different" and they "start going when they are ready". I get it, but it is just hard when your kid doesn't want to do it no matter how hard you try. Not to mention the frustration when you hear about those moms who potty train their kid in one day (kudos to those kids that can do it!) But we made it. She still has an accident every now an then, but for the most part she is good...even when we are out and about all day. This is seriously a miracle after 8-9 months of potty training. And I am saying good-bye to diapers for the first time in almost 6 years! Adios!

Along the process, I tried to bribe her with a new "Big Girl" room...but she could care less. I had fun decorating it though...so here is the before and after.

Why I {Blog}

My little blog is a family journal. I include things on here I want to remember years and years from now. So when I post a zillion pictures...it is because I want to have it for my posterity. So please forgive the often posted-picture overload.

Currently I am trying to focus on my photography skills...reading, reading, reading, and taking pictures when I can. Then edit, read, read, read some more. I finally feel like I have a basic understanding of exposure...hooray! I updated my blog template so I can display larger photos because...aren't pictures better than anything I have to say anyway?
