My Little Tap Dancer

We missed Addy's dance class pictures while we were in Utah, so I got her all dolled up and had them taken at Kiddie Kandids today. You wouldn't believe how excited she was to finally wear her 'sparkly' pink costume! Her recital is on June 21st, and then we'll be done with dance for the summer. She has been the youngest in her class (by 2 or 3 years compared to some kids), so sometimes it has been hard for her to stay focused....she is a 3 year old and definitely plays her age out well! Today in dance she was completely distracted by a bug flying around in the studio. I think she has enjoyed it MOST of time. We'll see how she does at the recital! We have some practicing to do, but she sure is dang cute.

Happy Birthday Trevor!

Trevor's birthday (32nd if you are counting) was this past Sunday. It is kind of hard planning a big birthday - day when he had an Elders Quorum meeting, church, and home teaching...but the kids weren't letting him get away without a party (they were definitely looking forward to it all week! They didn't quite understand I don't do 'goodie bags' and 'party games' for a 32 year old...). We managed to squeeze in a BBQ and 2 of his favorite desserts: Angel Food Cake (with the works: strawberries, blueberries, whipped cream) and Banana Cream pie. We also hit the Indiana Jones movie the night before (a 'no kids date night'...much needed by me too!). Trevor always does such a great job with my birthdays, it is hard to compete, but I think he felt loved and not too worried about being another year older (and hopefully wiser!). His work commitments have been really challenging lately, but I really appreciate how he always manages to fit time in for the fam somehow. He knew his own birthday was a bigger deal for the kids than for him, and he really came through!

And, a bonus perk...he got a new computer for his birthday...or should I say his 'own' computer. It was becoming quite the battle in the evenings over our home desktop, aka MY computer. So, it definitely was a gift for me too :-) I am a tad bit jealous of his far superior laptop, but he deserves it! (But, stealing it every once in awhile is okay, right?)

Holy Pregnancy!

Okay, these pictures are only 4 weeks apart, at 18 weeks and 22 weeks. What the heck? I feel like one day I just woke up and started looking obviously pregnant. No more hesitation on behalf of strangers wondering..."could she be?"...it is a definite yes! Okay, I am through griping....I'll take feeling uncomfortable any day over feeling nauseous, but it is so strange that one day that baby just starts to grow and the tummy just pops right out!

Trip to Utah

Arg! I've been so bad at posting lately! I am definitely wrong to keep thinking things are slowing down...it never does.

At the end of April and beginning of May we headed to Utah for two family events:

Camille's graduation! She is officially a college grad and certified elementary education teacher. She has secured her first official non-student teaching position at the same school she has been at in Payson, UT this last school year. She teaches 5th grade. Oh how I wish she were closer so my kids could someday be taught by Mrs. Warning!

Beckett Grange's baby blessing! What a sweet little nephew we have! The kids were in awe at this little life so precious and perfect. So crazy that Dan and Anne are actually in our old BYU married-student ward: the BYU 93rd ward...same chapel and everything (except, fortunately, there was no one still attending that we knew 10 years ago!). A bit of deja vu though. During testimony meeting it made me think back to those college days when you have all these huge life decisions to make as a young, married couple. It was challenging and great at the same time!

Of course we managed to squeeze in tons of activities---the zoo, children's museum, visit to Pine Valley, bridal shower, etc., etc. Here are a couple pictures with the cousins! We don't see them often enough!

Why I {Blog}

My little blog is a family journal. I include things on here I want to remember years and years from now. So when I post a zillion pictures...it is because I want to have it for my posterity. So please forgive the often posted-picture overload.

Currently I am trying to focus on my photography skills...reading, reading, reading, and taking pictures when I can. Then edit, read, read, read some more. I finally feel like I have a basic understanding of exposure...hooray! I updated my blog template so I can display larger photos because...aren't pictures better than anything I have to say anyway?

More about me here.
