{Family Reunion #1}

Last weekend we headed to Astoria to meet up with Trevor's family.  The kids have been looking forward to it for a long time!  Despite the unusually cold weather on the Oregon coast (which seems to find us whenever we visit the WA or OR coast), we had a great time!  We missed Trevor's sisters who couldn't come this year...but the brothers had a blast together.  These guys make me laugh when they are around each other. I especially liked the the dinner conversation about all of Tyler's high school shenanigans...good entertainment for all.  And the major competition attitude in board games and bocce ball.  Gotta love these guys.

It warmed up enough to enjoy one day on the beach...even though you couldn't see the water because of the thick fog/clouds covering it.

Definitely a daddy's boy this one...

Addy and Carson along with Trevor, Todd, and Tyler braved the water.

Carson made 'sand beds' for Addy and Evee...resulting in sand in every crevice possible.  Addy and Carson loved playing with Evee.
See the sand on Addy's legs???
Uncle Tyler a big help with all the kiddos!

Loved spending time with this sweet boy..cousin, Owen.

Making Rice Krispy treats in the trailer.

Grandma Pettingill brought all kinds of goodies for the kiddos.

Ry watching Toy Story for the billionth time!  Evee joined in too.

Carson and Dallan had such a fun time together especially riding bikes and playing catch.

And, I don't know why we didn't take a group picture before everyone left.  Note for next time!  Such a fun weekend and never seems quite long enough.  Thanks so much for everyone traveling quite a distance (we had the shortest route this year).  And thanks to Trevor's mom for making all the arrangements...never an easy task! I love spending time as a big family group.  These trips are the highlights of the summer for my kids (and me too!)..being with grandma and grandpa, aunts, and uncles, and especially cousins ... it just wouldn't be vacation or summer without family around!

I know everyone else already said this, but your photos look AMAZING! Only you could make pictures of an overcast, cloudy beach day look beautiful!

Looks like a great time! I love the look of Ry with his uncle..."Shoot I got caught!" I see it all the time with my own hand full named Cole!

Why I {Blog}

My little blog is a family journal. I include things on here I want to remember years and years from now. So when I post a zillion pictures...it is because I want to have it for my posterity. So please forgive the often posted-picture overload.

Currently I am trying to focus on my photography skills...reading, reading, reading, and taking pictures when I can. Then edit, read, read, read some more. I finally feel like I have a basic understanding of exposure...hooray! I updated my blog template so I can display larger photos because...aren't pictures better than anything I have to say anyway?

More about me here.
