{It's What Fun Is}

That's Lagoon's slogan.

I used to go every summer on Stake Lagoon Day as a kid (do they do that anymore?).  I took Carson and Addy about 5 years ago...but haven't been since then.   It was about time! We go to SLC every summer, but never seem to make it (and it is only 1o minutes away from my Mom and Dad's house!)We got a sweet hook-up on tickets from a family friend, so with my mom's help, we took the 4 kids and had a blast.

We lucked out on a slightly overcast day and an usually 'cool' day of 85 degrees (all relative coming from Seattle).  We joined up with my mom's friend and her twin girls.  They were so great to go on rides with Carson and Addy so I could take Ry on some of the littler rides.

Here we are all 'fresh' before the heat took it's toll on us.

 Can you tell Carson was thrilled that he was short enough by about 1/4 inch so he could ride this ride with his brother and sister?

This was more his style...
 My mom's favorite ride: the Tilt-A-Whirl.  She is a master.  And rode it 3 times!

Cutest kid ever.

Ry's favorite ride...the train!  It takes you over to the animals..which was rather impressive with a lion, tiger, panthers, camels, zebras, etc.  And even though Miles is crying in this picture, he actually did pretty well considering he is fussy most days! The train was his only official ride!  (Makes you miss Disneyland where everyone can ride the kiddie rides; moms and babies included).
Not going to lie...this one scared me. Just a tiny lap bar holding my 2 year old in as they rode across the park 20 feet in the air!  Grandma held on tight!

We decided to stay until the kids wore out...well, we stayed until it closed at 10pm! I was shocked.  After a little meltdown around lunch time for Ry, he totally rallied and had a great time!  So fun to go back and do the rides I did as a kid now with my own kids.  It was tiring, but worth it. And couldn't have done it without my mom!

Why I {Blog}

My little blog is a family journal. I include things on here I want to remember years and years from now. So when I post a zillion pictures...it is because I want to have it for my posterity. So please forgive the often posted-picture overload.

Currently I am trying to focus on my photography skills...reading, reading, reading, and taking pictures when I can. Then edit, read, read, read some more. I finally feel like I have a basic understanding of exposure...hooray! I updated my blog template so I can display larger photos because...aren't pictures better than anything I have to say anyway?

More about me here.
