{Random Roundup}

My blog has been a little neglected.  4 kids and the laundry they generate alone keeps me very busy.  And throw in the ramp up of tax season and extra accounting items needed for the business, and life just seems to go by at full speed.

In my attempt to capture some of what has been going on I'm posting some random happenings from the last month!

Here are some of my other favorite shots I took of the kiddos for Valentine's Day.  It is a teeny tiny miracle to, all by my lonesome, get these 4 kidlets looking decent with hair done and shirts pressed.  Not to mention timing it with decent lighting, baby feeding schedules, and 3 year old nap times.  Here are a few of my favs.  I think I should really update my blog banner with these someday.

While in Utah, my sisters and I raided my mom's closet and found these old dresses that she has kept since her teen years.  Most of them (all?) made by my grandma.  We sure had some good laughs.

And somehow I missed this cute picture of my Dad and Miles at the funeral.

Carson's had a ga-zillion things going on...including the Science Fair. It is our first Science Fair as parents (of what seems like 263 ahead!).  He did such a good job with the experiment and he let me help him make his display look pretty.  His science journal was all hand-written and very lengthy with a lot of details.  (That's what we have figured out that teachers want...an excessive amount of details about everything!  Unfortunately, it does seem to be a quantity rather than quality.)  He was a trooper on one night when we had to stay up late finishing it, but it paid off and he was one of 15 winners at the school and is headed to districts in April!

He also got his Bear award at Cub Scouts.

And has been playing Basketball too.  The team is a 5th/6th grade team with several players from our church.  So they let Carson and a couple other 4th graders on the team too.  It's been a tough, but good experience.  I can't believe how much more competitive these boys get that are just a year or two older.

He also had a special Cousin weekend a few weeks ago.  I have been wanting to invite Ty up to spend the weekend with us for awhile.  He ended up staying 3 nights and the boys loved it!  They were up late every night talking and laughing...and it warms my heart to see them be such good friends (despite the 2+year age gap).  He was a great little addition to our family for the weekend!

Addy is excited about joining a running club this month.  She begged to 'practice' on the treadmill last week.  So Trev throws her on there and she busted out 2.5 miles without stopping in 33 minutes.  She could have kept going if it wasn't bedtime!  She's going to be a little runner, that's for sure! Trevor is pretty much ecstatic!  We definitely know she didn't get those genes from me!

I never did take Miles 9 months pictures.  Sigh. The month just got away from me.  But, I did snap these two shots last week (he's 10 months old now!)  on a gorgeous spring day in Seattle.    He's growing up so fast, and I shed a tear every time I think about it!

Okay, end random-ness here.

Why I {Blog}

My little blog is a family journal. I include things on here I want to remember years and years from now. So when I post a zillion pictures...it is because I want to have it for my posterity. So please forgive the often posted-picture overload.

Currently I am trying to focus on my photography skills...reading, reading, reading, and taking pictures when I can. Then edit, read, read, read some more. I finally feel like I have a basic understanding of exposure...hooray! I updated my blog template so I can display larger photos because...aren't pictures better than anything I have to say anyway?

More about me here.
