{Easter 2014}

Easter 2014!  Always a mom's great relief when the Easter outfits are picked out, ironed, and some-what coordinating!   We got this group shot in record timing (I've taught my kids well....smile and get it over with or I will torture you for hours trying to get a good picture!)

Easter came and went in a blur.  It was so late this year that I felt like I had so much time, but in the end we were racing to get our traditions in.  Can't pass up a chance to dye eggs.  We did 3 dozen this year and could've done more!  (We ate about half of them).

Our HOA put on an awesome Easter egg hunt on Saturday.

And Rylan even got a ticket in one of his eggs for a 'surprise basket'....he was pretty darn stoked!

 Full size hershey bars?? My kids will be back next year (and I think Carson gets bumped out of the 'kid' category.  He was pushing it this year!).

The Easter bunny made extra complicated paths to their Easter baskets this year (a string from their bed to their basket.

 Pretty happy kiddos with new books, toothbrushes, candy, and Easter clothes.

And my sweet kiddos. I love how the spring flowers are are in bloom for Easter photos.  These are all taken in my back yard.  It's definitely at it's prettiest in April and May!  It's all downhill (and work!) from there.

A little harder to pull off Easter dinner when church isn't out until 4:30, but we managed to pull it off with everyone pitching in.  Honey Baked Ham...yum!!  And a real, from scratch, coconut cake (not white cake with coconut on it...I mean it has coconut milk in it!  ...sooooo good!).  My sister and family came over for dessert (no pics??!).  Fun to have family so close to share holidays with!

{Spring Break!}

Spring break always = tax season for me. And even though I work, part, part time....it's still busy enough that I feel like we can't GO anywhere for spring break, but we sure cram in a lot just staying home. We tried to do one fun outing a day..

First up, my niece's birthday party...Frozen style!  Finley was turning 3 and is such a cutie!

 Fun being with my sisters including Camille who moved here from Chicago! I love having her so close!
 We met up with some friends for a movie only to be turned away after buying tickets and popcorn because the projector was down.  With refunds and free movie tickets in hand, we headed to the park for some fun.

The next day we headed to the only open pool we could find, in Fife, about a 40 minute drive.  But my kids love to swim and it had a really nice kiddie pool too.
 We put together a birthday package from my Dad who was turning 60 in the middle of the month.

We ventured to some favorite local spots: The Root Beer Store which sells...you got it, root beer! In about 200 varieties.

And our fave local donut shop: Epic Donuts.

On the weekend, Carson got to attend his first ever, General Priesthood Meeting. His first one since turning 12.  With boys in the ranks, Trevor will have a son to go with for quite awhile.  Handsome boys right there.

General Conference always falls on Spring Break which makes for an extra relaxing weekend, with good food, and major spiritual recharging. Some great were messages shared by the prophet and apostles.

The following week the kids were back in school, but my SIL, Becca was on her spring break with her kids....so she came up to play.  She stayed with my sister, but we met up with them at the zoo. We haven't been in quite awhile and the little boys just loved it (the bigger kids were in school).

But the following day I pulled the bigger kids out of school early so we could attend the Puyallup Spring Fair with them.  So fun that this state-wide event is right in our home town.  Animals, Rides, and Cotton Candy...what's not to like?!

We had such a fun time taking a break from our regular school routine.  We definitely never have time to be bored though...we fill the schedule pretty darn well!

Why I {Blog}

My little blog is a family journal. I include things on here I want to remember years and years from now. So when I post a zillion pictures...it is because I want to have it for my posterity. So please forgive the often posted-picture overload.

Currently I am trying to focus on my photography skills...reading, reading, reading, and taking pictures when I can. Then edit, read, read, read some more. I finally feel like I have a basic understanding of exposure...hooray! I updated my blog template so I can display larger photos because...aren't pictures better than anything I have to say anyway?

More about me here.
