{Carson's Ordination}

In our church, it's a big deal when boys turn 12.  At that point, if they are worthy, they are ordained as a member of the Deacons Quorum and have the Aaronic priesthood conferred upon them.  Some general duties of the Deacons Quorum include passing the sacrament and collecting fast offerings. Carson has been looking forward to this for months! It also means advancement from Primary into the Young Men's program.

Carson was sustained in Sacrament meeting and was also awarded his Faith in God certificate for completing the program.  He recited the 11th article of faith.  And the Bro. Bergeson had some sweet things to say about Carson and his leaders and his progress in the the church and with his testimony.

It's such a sweet moment as a parent to watch your boy grow up and receive these important blessings.  The power of the Priesthood has blessed my life over and over in so many ways.  I am so proud of Carson. He is choosing to live his life in a way that is in harmony with God and with that comes the important responsibility of holding the Priesthood.

He looked so handsome in his new suit!

We were blessed to have many family members with us when he was ordained by Trevor. We did the ordination in the chapel during the last hour of church with the Deacons Quorum present as well as other young men leaders.  It was a wonderful group of support.

The men in the circle:
Tom Hollandworth, Scott Bergeson, Evan Grace, Josh Carver, Bishop Tim Grace, Mitchell Hollandsworth, Trevor, Carson, Grandpa Bob Dalley, Uncle Bryce Dalley, Uncle Bryce Warning, Uncle Chris Apken.
It warms my heart to have a family with so many righteous priesthood holders.

Carson is the oldest cousin on both sides of the family. So grateful he provides such a good example to this crew!

We had a big homemade Cafe Rio dinner back at our house and celebrated all the January birthdays in the family (Carson, Charise, Bryce W, Graham).

So proud of you Carson...just a few short years and you'll be heading on a mission. I am grateful you are on that path and that the gospel is an important part of your life.  I love you!!

Why I {Blog}

My little blog is a family journal. I include things on here I want to remember years and years from now. So when I post a zillion pictures...it is because I want to have it for my posterity. So please forgive the often posted-picture overload.

Currently I am trying to focus on my photography skills...reading, reading, reading, and taking pictures when I can. Then edit, read, read, read some more. I finally feel like I have a basic understanding of exposure...hooray! I updated my blog template so I can display larger photos because...aren't pictures better than anything I have to say anyway?

More about me here.
