{Valentine's Day 2014}

Always love a little Valentine's fun! I mailed the above Valentines to all of extended family, plus the kids did a massive amount for school, friend, and church parties. The Valentine's garb took over the kitchen table for the most part of 2 days.

I love these sweet little gems from preschool (and a pretty darn cute kid).

I've done a fancier breakfast in previous years, but this year just plopped down a red runner and a few dollar store doilies and called it good with yogurt parfaits in fancy glasses.

We made some fun treats for a few families at church.  Mini donuts and sugar cookies. Can never go wrong with that combo.

We went out to eat that night (having Carson as a babysitter is a major score when Valentine's Day falls on a week day!) with our friends, the Carvers. Trevor and I had already agreed ahead of time not to spend money on gifts (we were just in Hawaii, remember?).  But in the middle of dinner he whipped out this box with a ring in it!  What?!  I seriously said "What the heck is that?!"  I didn't know if was a joke or if I was about to be really mad at him for spending $$$$ on a very sparkly ring.  It only took me a few seconds to realize it was MY wedding ring.  I haven't had it since our anniverary in Sept when the diamond fell out (I discovered it was missing at our anniversary dinner, and we found it later in our home....miracle).
Anyway, it was so sweet of him to have it fixed for me and to give it to me on Valentine's Day.  I was totally surprised and not expecting it at all.  What was hilarious is the neighboring table actually thought we were getting in engaged and bought us dessert!  Oh man we laughed so hard, but ran with it.  Such a fun and memorable Valentine's Day!

Why I {Blog}

My little blog is a family journal. I include things on here I want to remember years and years from now. So when I post a zillion is because I want to have it for my posterity. So please forgive the often posted-picture overload.

Currently I am trying to focus on my photography skills...reading, reading, reading, and taking pictures when I can. Then edit, read, read, read some more. I finally feel like I have a basic understanding of exposure...hooray! I updated my blog template so I can display larger photos because...aren't pictures better than anything I have to say anyway?

More about me here.
